
Enology & Philosophy
Our team is headed-up by Claudio Goncalves
With more than twenty years’ experience in Chile and abroad (Spain and New Zealand), Claudio has amassed a wealth of knowledge.
In October 2016 he was voted one of Chile’s best ten enologists by the English magazine The Drinks Business.
He graduated in Enology from Chile’s Catholic University and then completed an MBA at Talca University. At Viña de Aguirre he has risen through the ranks over his career here.
His style is characterised by his focus on pure fruit expression and that the grapes should ‘speak for themselves’.


Production
The winery has a capacity for 14,000,000 litres, comprised of:
Stainless steel tanks
Stainless steel tanks with oak staves
American and French oak barrels
Three production lines with a capacity to produce 2,500,000 bottles per month.
Bodegas y Viñedos de Aguirre is proud to be one of only four Chilean wineries to count on BRC (AA Grade) and IFS (highest award of 97.14%) certificates. It is important to state that both certificates cover the yearly cycle’s complete process, not just production.
Additionally, Bodegas y Viñedos de Aguirre is always seeking to improve its green footprint and, to this effect, only uses bottles made with 90% recycled glass.
